Marine Renewables Canada leads trade mission to UK’s largest offshore wind event
This week representatives of Canada’s growing marine renewable energy industry will showcase capabilities to an international audience in London, United Kingdom (UK). Marine Renewables Canada, with support from the Government of Canada, is leading a trade mission of 9 organizations to Global Offshore Wind 2025 hosted by RenewableUK.
As a global leader in offshore wind with over 14 gigawatts (GW) of operating capacity, and target of up to 60 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind by 2030, the UK is a key market for partnerships, collaboration, and trade with Canadian companies.
“Organizations in the UK have been longstanding collaborators and partners with Marine Renewables Canada and this mission is aimed at leveraging those relationships to help connect Canadian and international companies,” said Amanda White, Senior Director, Operations and Member Services at Marine Renewables Canada. “The rapid expansion of the offshore wind sector will require a robust and capable supply chain and our members have strong skills and capabilities that can help ensure the UK and other jurisdictions meet ambitious offshore wind targets.”
RenewableUK’s Global Offshore Wind 2025 Conference and Exhibition is the largest offshore wind event in the UK, attracting 5000 attendees, including major developers and tier 1and 2 suppliers. Through participation in conference sessions, a booth at the exhibition, and side business and networking events, Marine Renewables Canada’s mission will serve to showcase Canada’s capabilities, help participating organizations develop new business leads, and provide intelligence and information about the growing offshore wind market.
The following organizations are participating in the mission to the UK:
- AECOM
