DESCRIPTION:Join us for the eighth installment of Marine Renewables Canada’s Ask an Expert webinar series as Kris Kendell from the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Energy Regulator guides us through the evolving regulatory landscape for offshore renewable energy in Canada. He will unpack how offshore wind projects move from concept to operation\, and what’s next on Canada’s regulatory horizon.  \nThis session will provide participants with:   \n\nAn overview of the offshore renewable energy land tenure process that is underway\, as well as key details on the Offshore Wind Call for Information NS25-1R; \n\n\nHow to provide feedback on the Strategic Direction Letter issued by the Governments of Canada and Nova Scotia as part of the Call for Information process; and \n\n\nInsights into how companies can participate in offshore wind Prequalification NS25-1R. \n\nThe webinar will conclude with a discussion of next steps and what to expect next on the road to offshore wind in Atlantic Canada.  \nWhether you are involved in policy\, project development\, or supply chain activities\, this session will offer valuable guidance to help you better understand and engage with Canada’s emerging offshore wind sector and regulatory framework.  \nMeet the Speaker 👇  \nKris Kendell is the Director of Resources and Rights and the Chief Conservation Officer at the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Energy Regulator (CNSOER).    \nIn his role at the CNSOER\, Kris manages the Call for Bids processes for licences\, advises on geoscience matters relating to energy exploration\, development\, and production\, and reviews geoscience aspects of industry-submitted activity authorizations.    \nKris is responsible for leading the Resources and Rights team \, which includes geoscience and rights professionals responsible for the management and conservation of offshore energy resources and for rights issuance. The Resources and Rights Team is also responsible for interpreting technical data and producing geoscience and resource assessment studies and reports on the Canada-Nova Scotia offshore area.    \n🌐 Register here
