Women in Marine Renewables Networking Event – November 23, 2021

Join us for “Women in Marine Renewables”, a networking event co-hosted by Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) and Marine Renewables Canada (MRC) in conjunction with Marine Renewables Canada’s Annual Conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to network, make connections, and hear from women working in the marine renewable energy sector. This is an opportunity to learn more about how and why they got involved in the sector and what they view as the opportunities and challenges.

Speakers:

Anne-Marie Belliveau, Owner
Projectable Consulting

 

Anne-Marie Belliveau is a professional engineer and certified project manager with over 13 years of professional experience. Anne-Marie recently started her own consulting business Projectable Consulting, where she is presently managing two research projects in the tidal energy sector. Prior to starting her own business, Anne-Marie was the Tidal Project Development Manager at Emera where she was mainly focused on the Cape Sharp Tidal project. Prior to working for Emera, she was the Director of Operations at the Fundy Ocean Research Center for Energy (FORCE) where she also managed FORCE’s Environmental program and provided managerial assistance with FORCE’s research program.

Anne-Marie keeps busy running after her two young sons and supporting women in engineering. She is presently the Chair of the Women in Engineering Committee at Engineers Nova Scotia. She is also a role model for Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) and a ‘Connector in the Greater Halifax Partnership Connector Program.


Sarah Thomas, Project Manager, Uisce Tapa
DP Energy

Sarah is the project manager for the Uisce Tapa Project in Canada.  Prior to joining the renewable, tidal, energy sector, she worked in the marine sector, primarily in marine systems engineering and shipbuilding.  With over a decade of experience overseeing technical and project management aspects of large scale, complex projects, Sarah has worked on some of the highest-profile projects for both the US and Canadian Navies.

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and is a fully qualified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute. Sarah also holds a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University.
